Remember the case
Cristina Kirchner, 72, was sentenced to six years in prison for corruption in a scheme of favoring contractors, who would have operated during the governments of Nestor Kirchner and her two mandates in the presidency. The scheme caused estimated loss of $ 1 billion to the public coffers.
Being over 70 years old, Cristina meets a sentence under home, as permitted by the Argentine Constitution. In this format, only family members, lawyers, doctors and security guards have access released to the residence. To receive other visits, you must justify the request and obtain authorization from the courts.
Since he was convicted, Cristina denies the accusations and claims to be a victim of political persecution. In public statements, he said that the sentence was written in advance and accused the judges of acting under the influence of higher interests without mentioning names. She has also criticized Milei’s government.
