Alexandre de Moraes blocks goods by Eduardo Bolsonaro

by Marcelo Moreira

Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) determined on Monday (21), the blocking of assets, bank accounts, key PIX and the salary of licensed deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP). The decision reaches the parliamentary’s mobile and immovable assets.

Eduardo follows in the United States, even after the official end of the 120 -day parliamentary license, which he won today. Despite the deadline, he did not return to Brazil or the House. However, as Congress is in recess, the absences that can lead to the loss of mandate only begin to be counted from August 4, when legislative work will resume.

The deputy responded to the decision and said that he “already expected” the blockade, classifying the measure as a “blackmail attempt”.

Given the impasse, the PL pressures the interim president of the House, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), to guide a bill authorizing the exercise of the distance office in specific situations. If the proposal is not approved and Eduardo is missing one third of the sessions of the year, he may lose his position, as determined by the House Regiment.
