The Federal Attorney General (AGU) requested the Federal Supreme Court (STF) an investigation in the investigation against Eduardo Bolsonaro, on suspicious movements in the Brazilian currency market before the announcement of commercial tariffs imposed by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, to Brazil, on July 9.
The suspicion is that privileged information was used. The petition was filed after a report that reported significant exchange exchange transactions before and after Trump’s official announcement. The AGU says that the movements suggest possible use of information privileged by individuals or legal entities, “allegedly with prior access and improper access to high impact decisions or economic data.”
The agency requests that the case be investigated in the context of the investigation against Eduardo Bolsonaro in the Supreme Court, as investigations already investigate the performance of the licensed deputy in the United States to impose sanctions against Brazilian justice. The AGU also requests the referral of the petition to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) and wants the Securities Commission to be communicated on transactions.
