Eleven people were injured in a traffic accident involving a train and a biarticulate bus in Cabral, a neighborhood of Curitiba, on Tuesday night (22). The vehicle was broken in the middle with the impact of the collision.
The bus carried 25 people at the time of the collision. The occurrence caught the attention of residents and drivers passing through the region at night.
Transportes Collective Gloria, responsible for line 250 – Ligeirão Norte/Sul, said that “the causes of the accident are being cleared” and reinforced the “commitment to the safety of passengers and the quality of public transport”.
According to the railroad concessionaire, the bus would have crossed the train passage at the time the train was approaching, “disrespecting the signs and not adopting safety procedures.”
The concessionaire also reported that it provided immediate care to the victims and released the road early in the morning, in conjunction with the traffic agencies.
“The accident that occurred last night between a train and a biarticulate, on Avenida Paraná, Cabral, reinforces my concern. We had 11 people injured and 9 of them were sent to hospitals, with minor injuries, thanks to God. I talked early today with the minister of transport, Renan Filho, about the need to remove the load trains that pass through our central region. Personally to Brasilia, request this to the federal government. The new concession of the federal government goes until 2027, and I reiterate that I want to have acted that Curitiba is heard about this subject.
