But for the indignation of the family, the UK prosecutor decided not to prosecute any police officers individually. In 2008, an investigation by the Independent Commission of complaints against the British police (IPCC), the body responsible for investigating police conduct, concluded his analysis of the case and listed all errors that were made during the operation. Still, the commission suggested that no police should be processed individually. In the same year, the prosecutor, then under the head of the future Premier Keir Stmerer, kept the decision not to sue involved in the case.
