Volkswagen introduced Golf GTI Edition 50 during Nürburgring’s 24 hours to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its iconic Hotch.
The special edition, which will start produced in 2025, will be the most powerful GTI ever made, with a 321 hp 2.0 turbo engine and 42.8 kgfm of torque, surpassing the traditional clubsport. The brand plans to deliver vehicles to customers in early 2026, half a century after the launch of the first GTI.

In addition to power gain, the model received technical improvements such as adjustable suspension (CDD), recalibrated front differential and more accurate direction. The “GTI Performance” optional package offers lower suspension, lighter bridgestone tires, and Akrapovic exhaust that reduces total weight.
Visually, the car bet on the classic GTI red, with colorful wheels, pedals and red belts, as well as plaid seats and exclusive steering wheel with the “GTI 50” logo.
The edition 50 also stood out on the track: it became the fastest production golf on the Nordschleife Nürburgring circuit, with a time of 7min46s. Although VW has not revealed the number of units, the edition should be limited, like other commemorative versions of the line.
Since 1996, the brand launches special GTI series every five years, being ClubSport S one of the most striking, known for its focus on track performance.
