Admission divided by social media shows an unusual, but remarkable action from Ukraine’s armed forces: a Mi-24 helicopter was observed as it followed closely after a Geran-2 Russian Camikedrone-the local version of the Iranian Shahed-136.

Unlike previous reports that highlighted Mi -24’s role in shooting down drones, the latest recordings only show the helicopter that films and follows Geran -2 – a form of “drone hunting” – without signs of fire or immediate destruction.

Geran -2 is the Russian name of the locally produced version of the Iranian Kamikazedronen Shahed -136, which has been used on a large scale of Russia in saturation attacks against Ukraine. These drones are mass -produced and have been a constant target for the Ukrainian air defense – where helicopters such as Mi -24 have played an important role in tracking and observation.

According to defense experts, the Ukrainian Mi-24 helicopter has been used regularly to detect and follow Geran-2 drones, sometimes even whole swarms at high altitude before attempting cutting.
