According to the statement, two F-5 fighter jets owned by Iranian military were hit while on land at Dezful Airport, Southwest Iran.
In addition, in an attack that occurred in the morning, IDF destroyed eight missile launchers, six of them were reportedly ready to be used to attack Israel’s territory directly.
More than 20 fighter jets were mobilized
In last night’s operations, around 20 Israeli Air Force fighter jets took part in the bombing, under the direction of the IDF intelligence division. Dozens of strategic targets in the central region of Iran were successfully hit.
Among the bombed locations there are military facilities for the production of explosive components, weapons storage warehouses, weapons manufacturing centers, and Iranian air defense system positions.
What is the F-5 fighter jet used by Iran?

The F-5 fighter jet that was attacked by the Israeli Air Force at Dezful Airport was part of a fleet of fighter aircraft made in the United States from the 1960s. Iran Received Dozens of Units Northrop F-5 Freedom Fighter Before the 1979 Islamic Revolution, when the country was still establishing military relations with the United States.
Since then, the Iranian Air Force has continued to operate the F-5 through local renewal and return engineering. Some of them have been modernized and redesigned internally, producing derivative versions such as Kowsar, F-5-based aircraft with updated Avionics and limited combat capability.
Although considered to be technologically obsolete compared to modern fighter jets, F-5 is still used for minor attack missions, advanced training, and air patrols in Iran, especially in bases such as dezful which is located near the border with Iraq.
