The preliminary installation of interiors produced in Russia was successfully completed at an MC-21 experimental aircraft at the Irkutsk aviation factory. The jet was equipped with luggage compartments, window and ceiling panels, kitchen and bathroom modules, wardrobes, partitions, curtains, coatings and doors finishes, as well as running class seats.
The components were manufactured by the company “Aviazhnie Interery” (aviation interiors) under a large import replacement program, which aims to strengthen the national aeronautical industry with entirely Russian solutions.

According to Genar Shuvalov, head of the interior and equipment department of the manufacturer Pао “Yakovlev”, the installation was successful and exceeded expectations: “Experts highlighted the quality of the new installation. Some components fit even better than their foreign equivalents, previously tested on the same aircraft.”
Representatives of the interior manufacturer followed the assembly closely. “The installation of the first set of interiors is an important step in our strategic cooperation with Pао ‘Yakovlev’. Thanks to this step, we are confidently launching the interior production of the interiors to the MC-21,” said Roman Ramazanov, managing director of Aviation Interiors.
In the coming months, the full nationalization of the production of floor panels and luggage compartment panels is expected to be manufactured in the city of Ulyanovsk.
