by Marcelo Moreira

The regime of dictator Nicolás Maduro announced on Friday (27) the arrest of an elderly, a chemist by profession and over 70 years old, accused of trying to denounce the US government locations in Iranian missiles in Venezuelan territory. The detention was revealed by the Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, during a program broadcast by YouTube.

According to Cabello, the Venezuelan authorities identified the man after monitoring “a conversation of a gentleman talking to a person with a gringo accent (American).” According to the minister, the elderly would be preparing to contact FBI agents, where he would suppose strategic information about places where Iran’s missiles could be in Venezuela.

“He is talking about the danger that Venezuela represents to the United States, because from here they can launch bombs. That is, he has the location of missiles here in Venezuela,” said Cabello, justifying the prison.

Cabello stated that the man was arrested before completing contact with the FBI and stressed that he would have said that he only exposed theories about the presence of foreign weapons in the country. “We did our intelligence work and grabbed you,” said the minister, explaining the operation of the regime.

According to the Venezuelan regime, the elderly ex-wife lives in the United States and would have facilitated his contact with the FBI.
