USA dismantle Iranian human trafficking network in California

United States federal authorities arrested two men on Friday at a Los Angeles residence in California during an operation that served to dismantle a human trafficking network with strong connections with the Iran’s regime. The action, coordinated by the Customs and Border Protection Agency (CBP), occurred after an investigation that pointed to the main points of support for illegal entry of foreigners linked. the threats to national security.

According to an official statement published by CBP on social network X, the residence was being used “repeatedly to hide people who illegally crossed the border and who maintain ties with terrorism.”

The CBP confirmed that over the past week, seven other people of Iranian nationality had been arrested in the same place, including individuals on the FBI surveillance list on suspicions of association with extremist networks. The site, according to the authorities, was already monitored by federal agencies by its history of involvement with human trafficking and the facilitation of the entry of individuals of “opposing regimes”, especially from Iran.

CBP Assistant Commissioner Hilton Beckham, in a statement to Fox News DigitalHe pointed out that “intelligence reports indicate that this smuggling network has mobilized individuals from hostile countries, including Iran.” He added that “thanks to our coordinated operations, we were able to counteract threats before they do damage.”

The target residence of the operation is part of CBP, a series of logistics structures identified along the southern border, used by international networks to temporarily hide illegal migrants shortly after entering the country.
