A microsmic car, with space for just one person, has gone viral on social media and confused many Brazilians because it looks like a narrow version of the old Fiat Uno.
Informally called “Meiuno”, the vehicle caught attention with its nostalgic design reminiscent of Uno from the 1980s and 90s. The model that has become a sensation is actually a modified European Fiat Panda, handmade by Italian Andrea Marazzi.
The unusual project was presented at the Panda A Pandino event, the largest meeting for Panda enthusiasts in the city of Pandino, Italy. Marazzi got the idea as a personal challenge: he measured his chest, cut an original panda in two, welded it back together and created an ultra -compact car with only 50 cm exterior width. Completely electric and functional, the mini car can reach speeds of up to 15 km/h and retain original parts such as dashboard, steering wheel, seats and even luggage compartments – all reworked on a smaller scale.
The resemblance to the Brazilian Fiat Uno is not a coincidence: both of the roots and the practical 1980s design. While UNO was launched in Brazil in 1984, Panda debuted in Europe in 1980 as a reasonable city car.
Despite the confusion, the viral vehicle is actually a specially adapted European panda. Called “The world’s narrowest panda”, it is made for one person and has taken the internet by storm.
