Former President Donald Trump manifested himself for the first time after Iranian attacks on US military bases in Qatar-the largest in the US Middle East. The statements were made on its social network, Truth Social, where he published three messages about the episode.
In the first publication, Trump stated that Iran responded “very weak” to the destruction of their nuclear facilities, and that retaliation was easily contained. According to him, of the 14 missiles fired, 13 were intercepted and one was released for not representing direct threat. The former president also thanked Iran for warning previously about the attack, which avoided any American victim.
In the same post, Trump stated that “Israel took everything out of the system” and that perhaps it is now possible to achieve “peace and harmony” in the region. He also said he encouraged Israel to follow the same way. In the second message, Trump thanked Emir of Qatar for his efforts to seek peace in the Middle East and reiterated that, fortunately, there were no dead, nor among the Americans, nor among the Catarenses.
The third publication was brief, with a single sentence in capital letters:
“Congratulations world. It’s the time of peace!”
Trump’s comments suggest that the United States may be willing not to retaliate Iran militally at this time. However, so far, there has been no official announcement confirming this position.
