United States President Donald Trump announced on Monday (23) an agreement of “total ceasefire” in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, ending 12 days of confrontation in the Middle East. According to a statement issued by Trump on social networks, the ceasefire will be implemented in approximately six hours, after the completion of the in progress missions on both sides.
By the agreement, Iran will start the ceasefire, followed by Israel after twelve hours. With 24 hours of full truce, the conflict will be officially closed, marking the end of what Trump called the “12 -day war.” The US president praised the “courage and intelligence of both countries for opting for peace.”
“This is a war that could have lasted years and destroyed the whole Middle East, but it won’t last, and it will never last!” Wrote the president.
During the ceasefire period, each side must remain peaceful and respectful of the other, the Republican said.
“Congratulations to all! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America and God bless the world!” He said.
The ceasefire agreement occurs after intense combat and tensions that threatened to destabilize the entire region.
