The Supreme Court of the United States issued on Friday (27), the decision to limit the reach of lower court decisions in relation to White House decrees. The measure paves the way for Donald Trump’s proposal to ban American citizenship to sons of tourists in the country to become law.
The result represents a victory for Trump, who had already complained that blocking the measure created obstacles to the government’s agenda. The Court has granted another 30 days for Trump’s measure on citizenship to come into force, which can lead to new judicial battles.
The White House chief classified the decision as a “big and amazing”, as well as a “monumental victory for the separation of powers.” He also called the performance of first -level first -level judges than the supreme cut of “colossal abuse,” saying this meant a “great threat to democracy”
Citizenship by birth automatically makes anyone born in the United States a US citizen, including children born of mothers who were illegally. The law was created shortly after the civil war at the 14th Constitution Amendment.
The US is among the approximately 30 countries where citizenship by birth right is applied. The principle used is “jus solo” (soil law).
