Niterói City Hall will take the transfer of the body of Brazilian dead in Indonesia

by Marcelo Moreira

The City Hall of Niterói, in Rio de Janeiro, will assume the costs of the transfer of the body of 26 -year -old publicist Juliana Marins, found dead after falling from a cliff during a trail on Mount Rinjani, Indonesia. The announcement was made after Itamaraty reported that, by current rules, it cannot bear this type of expense. Juliana will be veiled and buried in the city of Rio de Janeiro, where she lived.

The young woman’s body was located after four days of searching in an area that is difficult to access. She had disappeared during a trail on the volcano located on Lombok Island, and her location was only possible after tourists accidentally spot it, three hours after the accident. The body was removed from the mountain and taken to a hospital in Bali, where it will undergo autopsy.

According to the city, the decision to fund the transfer was made after contact with Juliana’s family. Before that, former soccer player Alexandre Pato had offered to help financially with costs. The municipal administration said it will also assist with the burial procedures, which will take place in Niterói.

The advertiser’s family warned of false collection campaigns circulating on social networks. According to family members, no kitty online has been authorized, and they ask the public not to contribute or share these initiatives. Juliana’s body should return to Brazil upon completion of the necessary legal procedures and examinations performed in Indonesia.
