Neymar will follow at Santos. The club officialized on Tuesday (24), the renewal of contract with the striker, which would have been terminated next Monday. The new agreement is valid until December 2025.
The extent of the contract was being discussed weeks ago and was only completed after the player’s stance endorsement. Since returning to Vila Belmiro in late January, Neymar has entered the field 12 times, scored three goals, has given three assists and faced two muscle injuries that took him out of an important part of the season.
Despite physical limitations and the lack of sequence, Santos chose to keep the ace. The salary follows above four million reais per month and the board also renegotiated the payment of 85 million regarding imaging and marketing rights, now scheduled for discharge by the end of 2026.
Renewal is also part of Neymar’s personal plan. The player intends to compete in the 2026 World Cup and sees the permanence in Brazilian football as an opportunity to recover rhythm and visibility.
The initial contract, lasting five months, served as a test for both parties. Santos faced financial difficulties and bet on the return of the idol even without guarantees of immediate performance. Neymar, in turn, sought to resume physical form after a serious knee injury that pushed him away for over a year.
Internally, there is the assessment that shirt 10 has a symbolic responsibility with the club. So far, he has participated in only four of the eleven rounds of the Brazilian Championship. With the new bond, you will have a chance to play the tournament until the last round, as the national calendar runs until December because of the Club World Cup dispute.
