A man named Patches Magickbeans severely injured a worker after his van collided with a construction machine. According to police, the driver was under the influence of mushrooms.
On June 19, 2025, 34-year-old Patches took a “snaking” lead in the state of Minnesota when his vehicle hit the edge of the road and collided with a lifting platform used by two workers.
Benjamin Kidd, 27, one of the workers who were hit by the driver was hospitalized with serious injuries and is critical of the Northern News Now local news portal.
The other worker, Bradley Kostiuk, 37, told police that he had heard his Magickbeans van hit the traffic buoys and saw in time he was heading towards the vehicle.
According to police arriving at the scene, the driver seemed to be under the influence of some drug because he was found with expanded pupils, stuttering and possibly hallucinations.
Police also found psilocybin mushrooms in Magickbeans’ van. The results of toxicological studies have not yet been disclosed.
The driver was accused of two counts of endangered driving and a second degree of drug -related crime.
