The Iranian Nuclear Installation of Fordow was hit once again on Monday (23), this time by an attack on Israel, according to local and international reports. The unit, located in a mountainous region of the Province of Qom, had already recently been a target of antibunker bombs launched by the United States.
A spokesman for Qom Province Crisis Management Headquarters confirmed to the TASNIM news agency that the Fordow complex has suffered a new impact on Monday.
According to the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA), Rafael Grossi, the US attack on the weekend may have caused “very significant damage” to the structure due to the sensitivity of underground centrifuges to vibration. He pointed out, however, that it is not yet possible to accurately evaluate the severity of damage to the underground area of the installation.
Israel Katz Minister of Defense said Israel’s defense forces (IDF) are performing “unprecedented strength” attacks against the targets of the Iranian regime and government repression bodies in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
“We are currently attacking with unprecedented targets of the regime and government repression organs in the heart of Tehran,” Katz said in an official statement issued by his office. According to him, images of the bombings will be released soon to illustrate “the depth of damage.”
Katz also made it clear that the attacks are a retaliation for rockets launched against the Israeli rear. “For each rocket fired at the Israeli rear, the Iranian dictator will be severely punished. The attacks will continue with all the intensity,” he said.
The minister stressed that the offensive will continue until “all war goals are achieved.”
Reports of Iranian state media and eye witnesses indicate explosions and impacts in various areas of the Iranian capital, reinforcing the Israeli declaration of bombing.
