In a conciliation hearing with the Supreme Court Minister (STF), Dias Toffoli, the president of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS), Gilberto Waller, announced the payment calendar of retirees and pensioners affected by improper discounts. Reimbursement, which will be made every 15 days, should start to be paid from July 24th.
According to Waller, social security should prioritize the payment of elderly over 80 years old, indigenous and quilombolas. In the first batch of reimbursement, it is estimated that 1.5 million victims will receive the total amount questioned. For the INSS schedule, two other rounds are scheduled for August 9 and 24.
The corrected payment will be deposited directly to the beneficiary’s account, in a single installment and without the need for bureaucracies and intermediaries.
The opposition of the government in Congress considered the decision to reimburse the victims of the fraud scheme without the need for lawsuits, but stated that this initiative will not invisible the installation of the INSS Mixed Parliamentary Parliamentary Commission (CPMI).
