Itzik Elgarat, an Israeli civilian hijacking on October 7, 2023 by Hamas terrorists, was tortured to death during the captivity in the Gaza Strip after being confused as a military man.
The report was released by his brother, Dani Elgarat, on Monday (30) during a meeting of a committee in the Israeli Parliament. The victim was 68 years old at the time of the facts.
According to Dani, Israeli intelligence officials have recently provided details of the murder to the family. The hostage would have been confused as a military during the massacre and subsequent kidnapping to the Palestinian enclave.
On October 7, 2023, Itzik was at his residence at Kibutz Niz Oz when terrorists advanced in the Israeli territory and attacked him with shots. The authorities’ investigations indicate that the captors confused Elgarat as a driver of Israel’s air forces due to a tattoo on his eagle arm.
“They [terroristas] They took my brother to interrogation and he never returned, “said the victim’s brother in Parliament.
Itzik was kept in captivity for a period with the American-Israeli soldier Edan Alexander, recently released after pressure from US President Donald Trump. When he returned to Israel, Alexander told authorities that the hostage Elgarat had “broken.”
“Itzik died, was murdered, he suffered a heart attack after being tortured by Hamas in an interrogation,” said the hostage’s brother. Itzik’s body was returned in February during a truce between Israel and Hamas.
In a heated session, the brother of the murdered hostage was expelled from Parliament at the end of his statements after accusing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of “Financing Hamas” due to the judgment of Qatargate, a scandal faced by Israeli leader of supposed financial ties to Qatar, one of the refugees of Hamas terrorist figures.
