The warning is valid for the entire state of São Paulo and, according to the Civil Defense, a polar air mass will follow after the cold front and can bring temperatures between 3 ° C and 12 ° C throughout the state, with a condition for frost in some areas.
The agency also reinforces the importance of paying attention, especially to the most vulnerable people, such as the elderly, children and homeless people, who are more susceptible to the effects of intense cold. In addition, they guide that, in the event of storms, flooded areas should be avoided, not shelter under trees, move away from windows and metal structures and, if possible, stay in a safe place until the end of instability.
Solidarity shelter will be mobilized
As a measure of protection of the arrival of the cold front and polar mass, the São Paulo government, through the State Civil Defense, in partnership with the São Paulo Metro, with the Secretariat of Metropolitan Transport, the Secretariat of Social Development and Social Fund, will activate the Solidarity Shelter at Pedro II Station, Line 3-Red Metro.
The site will operate from 19h00 on Monday (23) to 8h00 on Wednesday (25), offering emergency care for homeless people. Mattresses, blankets, hygiene kits, food and social assistance will be available, as well as shelter and food for pets. In the morning, the welcomes will receive a ticket to have breakfast at the Restaurant Bom Prato of Rua 25 de Março.
