by Marcelo Moreira

The government of São Paulo marked for October 10 the auction of the concession project to build the new state administrative center. The date was made official in the announcement published on Tuesday (24). The project, scheduled for the Campos Elíseos neighborhood, in the center of the capital, should receive about R $ 5.4 billion in investments, with revitalization works and construction of new buildings.

The plan foresees a major urban transformation in the region, which has already been marked by the presence of Cracolândia. The proposal includes the revitalization of 17 listed properties, the expansion in more than 40% of the green area of Princesa Isabel Park, and the construction of 12 new buildings, which will result in the expropriation of 230 properties located in five blocks declared of public utility.

In all, there will be 7 buildings and 10 towers to centrally house secretariats and state agencies, which currently operate in more than 40 different properties around the city. The architectural project was selected through national public tender, and will be executed through a public-private partnership (PPP), with a 30-year contract. The winning concessionaire will be responsible for the implementation, operation, management and maintenance of the complex throughout the period.
