Slovak company Deftech has released test footage of the new Wolf 25 AD anti-aircraft system, specially developed for Ukraine.
A test conducted in Slovakia demonstrated its effectiveness, including shooting down a drone 400 meters away with only seven rounds of training ammunition. No programmed explosive ammunition was needed.
Two units have already been deployed in Ukraine and additional testing is underway. The transition to mass production is expected soon, and orders for hundreds of units are expected.
The Wolf 25 AD is equipped with the latest turrets made by Valhalla Turrets and an Olicon automatic gun with a 25 x 137 mm caliber that can fire up to 650 rounds per minute. A variety of ammunition can be used, including close fuse bullets, incendiary bombs, armor-piercing bullets, and shrapnel bullets, which can accommodate a variety of missions. The choice of caliber offers a good balance of power, light weight, cost and market availability.
In addition to its armament, the vehicle is equipped with advanced optical sensors and AESA AMMR radar, allowing up to 150 targets to be detected simultaneously in real time. It has a range of up to 20km for fighter jets and up to 5km for small drones. Radar is resistant to electronic interference, operates in environments where electronic warfare is active, and can detect enemy artillery fire. For this reason, the Wolf 25 AD is ideal for both fixed defense and on-moving escorts.
