The National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) decided to definitively cassar the Air Operator Certificate of Airlines Airlines, after investigation that pointed out more than 2,000 flights made with airplanes without proper maintenance. The measure occurs after the air crash of August 9, 2024, which resulted in the deaths of 62 people in the interior of São Paulo.
According to the report presented at the Anac meeting, the company has ceased to hold at least 20 mandatory inspections in seven aircraft. The decision prevents VOEPASS from continuing to operate flights or selling tickets. The company can no longer resort. In a statement, the Ministry of Ports and Airports stated that the measure reflects the agency’s commitment to civil aviation security and users protection.
